MODEL SUMMARY.
2003 03 Reg. Honda Fireblade RR-1 929, in Quick Silver
Supplied new by W.Mounter Motorcycles of South Wales, this is a very late registered 929. Supplying dealer + 3 owners, with the second retaining the bike for 19 years between 2005 and 2024
The Quick Silver paint finish makes this bike a quite rare site on UK roads, and it is notablty subtle compared to the more common two tone schemes offered on this model. Honda only offered this paint option for a very short time across some of it’s range in 2001. Other models that could be specified with it were the VFR800, VTR1000 SP-1, CBR600F and CBR1100-XX Blackbird
This is an essentially standard bike, other than for a very sweet sounding Remus exhaust, a gloss black rear hugger, tail tidy and a period Iridium screen
Low mileage of 13500 miles. Just had lube service. It has it’s original service book and a VOSA MOT print out detailing all dates/mileages/locations. Currently MOTd until June 2026. Clear HPI report. All books/documents/keys present
The RR-Y/1, or ‘929’ as it’s more commonly referred to was a very significant bike in the Fireblade’s evolution. The first of the Fireblades to feature fuel injection, and moving power and performance to new levels, all with the delectable ease of use and complete lack of temperament that these bikes had always been known for. Fully adjustable 43mm USD forks were up front, along with Honda’s pro-link rear suspension featuring a gas charged damper and 13 way adjustability. 330mm discs were grabbed by 4 pot calipers, and, all in all, these were a lightweight, very fast machine that also stopped and handled very well too..The Fireblade had moved on……..
A very presentable example of what remains a light, quick, untemperamental superbike more than capable of holding it’s own against most other bikes on the road today
