These 50th Anniversary models were based around the 5VY 4th Generation bikes which for the first time ever achieved a power to weight ratio of 1:1 for a production machine i.e 172bhp for 172kg weight (or 1000 bhp/tonne) for a ‘dry’ bike. This naturally grew the R1’s fearsome reputation with a 175mph top speed, with one road test achieving the 1/4 mile in 9.9s. The standard specification included Quad headlights, radially mounted calipers and radial master cylinder, 5 spoke wheels, forced air intake with digitally controlled butterfly valves and Yamaha CAT 2 engine immobiliser

Being a 2006 model year bike, the 50th Anniversary benefitted from a 20mm longer swingarm and revised frame and forks to sharpen up it’s overall handling characteristics. The colour scheme was simply gorgeous and most would acknowledge  the Kenny Roberts livery to be the ultimate for any Yamaha. This particular example benefits from having  Yoshimura titanium exhausts, Power Commander lll USB, Pazzo adjustable levers, Laser cut ‘R1’ heat shield, R&G fork protectors, R&G engine protectors, R&G frame protectors, R&G swingarm protectors, Aluminium paddock stand bobbins, Yamaha tinted screen, Headlamp protectors (removable) and a Datatool S4 CAT 1 alarm/immobiliser

Not many of these bikes will be found, and this particular bike sets itself apart from most of the others in having had just 2 owners from new, with a low mileage of just 9800 miles. It really is a quite wonderful example of what is a much sought after, collectable, R1 model, one of the greatest superbikes of it’s generation

The JFF/KFF (ABS) model had evolved from the similar JBF/KBF (ABS) models, which in 2011 had replaced the earlier FAF, E9F and E8F models. Pretty much the quickest superbikes of the day, they remain a formidably quick machine and are still more than a match for the current crop. with their 200ps/84lb ft motor. The last owner, from whom we have taken it in part exchange had owned it since September 2015, and the owner prior to him since 2003. It is in truly, almost remarkably, good condition, with particular note paid to it’s engine barrels, engine casings, swingarm and gorgeous laced spoked rims which are all all in fine fettle

BMW’s ubiquitous adventure bike, the big GS undoubtedly offers a range of qualities and capabilities not easily found elsewhere, and offers a real go anywhere, do anything feel. Dependable is an apt word.  Venerable 1084cc boxer twin offers under stressed performance and the bike is supremely comfortable

These ZL3 Millionth editions were produced in 2013 to celebrate the production of 1 million GSX-Rs since the introduction of the first GSX-R 750 ‘Slabside’ in 1985. The year 1985 being key, as just 1985 of these Millionth Editions were produced and sold worldwide, with reportedly as little as 100 or so coming to the UK. Each bike had an individually numbered build plaque on the top yoke, and built upon the specification of the excellent L2/L3 model launched one year previously which in itself was the most radically re-engineered GSX-R1000 since the fabled K5/K6 model.

The unique spec. included the one off colour scheme, a Yoshimura exhaust can, Yoshimura bar ends, Yoshimura engine case protectors, Yoshimura paddock stand bobbins, Red anodized fork caps, Gold anodized top yoke nut, Gold coloured forks, Black Brembo Monobloc radial calipers with bespoke red lettering, Red rear suspension coil spring, Unique pin stripe wheel decals, Suzuki race cowl and a Bespoke key fob with printed ‘R’ logo in Red. With the Yoshimura end can fitted, Suzuki claimed an addition 3bhp, rating the model at 185bhp. They also came with a blue Suzuki branded paddock stand, as shown in the photographs, and this is included. This particular bike also has a tail tidy fitted.

The very high standard L3 GSX-R1000 mechanical specification encompassed Suzuki Ram Air Direct (SRAD) Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) electronic steering damper, slipper clutch, Showa Big Piston Forks (BPF) fully adjustable rear Showa suspension and factory fitted Suzuki SAIS immobiliser.

Totally pristine, this bike is of collector quality, and if preserved and maintained accordingly can surely only appreciate as time goes on. A fabulous road bike, it remains one of the most docile, user friendly and untemperamental superbikes, and is a total joy to ride. All books/manuals/documents/keys present

All warranty upgrades and modifications completed and documented, including the Z25 gear shaft, clutch basket/housing, alternator nut/washer/loctite, cam tensioner spring, core plugs and output shaft sprocket nut, all carried out by the supplying dealer Motorcycle Centre Orrell  at point of sale when supplied new to it’s first keeper in November 2013, and further confirmed by the Benelli UK Concessionaires, Moto GB. This model is characterised by it’s rear mounted radiator and twin yellow cooling fans and has a high mechanical specification so typical of these smaller volume Italian manufactured models. The first impression of these bikes is that of a slightly clattery, and mechanical machine, certainly versus a Japanese in-line 4. However, that soon changes and with the oil warmed through, and the bike ridden as intended, the motor is quite wondrous, hugely willing, musical, one that just thrives on revs and with a distinctive triple cylinder howl

A gem of a bike in every sense, this allows a piece of Italian exotica in all but new condition, to be bought at a fraction of the cost of a far more mundane new ‘normal’ bike, of lesser character. Of true collector quality condition, and with excellent, full and complete provenance and paperwork, there really is nothing to add. With a distinct future collectability, you pays your money, but for now these Novecento Tres appear to be ridiculously good value for money. The Sprint GT 1050 SE model is Triumph’s traditional long distance sports tourer, and offers a blend of comfort, stability, power and practicality to take it‘s rider and passenger huge distances

It offers strong performance from it’s torquey 1050cc triple motor, combined with secure, sporty handling and truly excellent ride quality, thanks to it’s slightly longer wheelbase than the closely related ST model

The factory pannier and topbox system, is simplicity itself in use and allows vast amounts of luggage to be carried with ease. ABS braking, proper instruments with a multifunction trip computer, superbly effective headlamp, touring screen, a super comfortable gel seat, factory fitted heated grips and a 12v power point all add to the ease of use and overall practicality of these machines. The Dream Machine paintwork was carried out at a cost of £1070 in July 2004 when the bike was all but brand new, including additional paintwork to the wheels. We have the invoice in the original owner’s name and so it is important to note that the bike wears all of it’s original Suzuki fairings and panels and has been as it is now since new

Key options fitted include a custom made Quill GP1 exhaust and titanium link pipe, again with invoice present from very early in the bike’s life. It was set up on a Dyno with a print out present showing a healthy 135rwhp. Additionally, it has a Motografix tinted screen, Motografix tank pad, Stomp tank grips, R&G crash bobbins, R&G fork protectors, Goodridge braided brake hoses, Pazzo adjustable levers, Carbon effect fairing in-fill panels, CNC laser cut GSX-R heel plates, LED indicators, Tail tidy, GSX-R bar ends and Race cowl (with pillion seat)

GSX-R750s of all denominations are totally docile, and without temperament and have always struck a wonderful balance between the lightness and agility of a 600 Supersport, but with power and mid range closer to the bigger 1000 Superbikes. With 140 odd crankshaft HP, this bike has all but the power of the superbikes of 20 years ago anyway, and as a road bike, to this day, will have no problem keeping virtually anything honest in real terms.

A joy to ride, and the bottom line is that it looks superb, sounds amazing and is properly quick, therefore very nicely ticking all the boxes it needs to

In commendable condition, with a genuinely stunning paint scheme, and with it’s further upgrades, this is a nice example of an extremely accomplished and capable sports bike

This is Piaggio’s innovative 3 wheeled scooter offering supreme ease of use thanks to it’s fully Automatic ‘Twist and Go’ Belt Drive transmission, and decent performance from it’s 40 bhp Single Cylinder 4 stroke 493cc Fuel Injected motor, with a top speed approaching 90 mph. It offers enhanced all weather stability and grip over a 2 wheel scooter and and can be ridden on a car licence

The most unusual front suspension arrangement comprises a tilting parallelogram with 4 arms supporting 2 steering tubes, ably assisted by a somewhat more conventional rear end of 2 double acting hydraulic shock absorbers and swing arm. It’s ever so clever and the handling quite superb, tipping into and leaning through corners like a 2 wheeled machine

As with other ‘super scooters’ these bikes have a huge amount of underseat storage, and various other stowage compartments, which make them a very versatile commuter. They also make for a very good 2 up machine with pillion

This particular example is most unusual in having covered such a low mileage. Given that these are predominantly commuter machines, they tend to cover big mileages and encounter scrapes and scuffs along the way. This one isn’t like that, and so if you want one in genuinely immaculate condition, that has led a charmed and cherished existence, well then this is the one for you
