The F4, designed by Massimo Tamburini, and famed for his earlier Ducati 916 design, was built to celebrate Cagiva’s purchase of the MV Agusta brand under the helm of Claudio Castiglioni, head of the family that retains ownership today. Ferrari had an influential input in to the design of the motor, which utilises radial valves and a quick to remove cassette gearbox. The 1078 RR 312 version was a real showpiece for MV’s talents, and heavily re-engineered and re-worked over it’s lesser brethren

The 312RR’s key specification included a Slipper clutch with EBS (Engine Braking System) Revised close ratio gearbox, Patented 4-2-1-2-4 Arrow quad exhaust system, Revised suspension calibration, F4 CC Sachs steering damper, Steel trellis framework with cast aluminium swingarm plates, Single sided swingarm, Lightweight 10 spoke Marchesini rims, Fully adjustable USD 50mm dia. There really isn’t much that will go through set of twisty bends quicker, and the 675 Triple is a motor of immense character, all the time emitting it’s characteristic wail

A UK supplied bike, the last owner purchased it in 2023, with the owner prior to him owning it for 21 years from 2002 until 2023 as part of his significant car and motorcycle collection

Having been essentially unused for 10 years or so, the last owner set about comprehensively overhauling the bike both in terms of  mechanical and cosmetic items. The works completed was extensive, all fully documented, and as listed in the relevant sections above

The Ducati 916 launched in 1994 and very simply put blew the world away. At that time, the prettiest (arguably remaining to this day) most focussed, beatifully designed motorcycle there had ever been, and a significant game changer on all levels. If ever a bike was destined to become a future classic, well, this was it, and 32 years after it’s launch, any 916/996/998 Ducati, from a Biposto, to an SPS, to an R, remains a thing of beauty, and hugely desirable

The standard mechanical specification included fully adjustable Showa 43mm dia. BPF front suspension, fully adjustable Showa rear suspension (OHLINS FITTED TO THIS BIKE) Gold Brembo 4 piston calipers, 320mm dia. front brake discs, steering damper, quick release fairings and body panels, and an easily replaceable dry clutch

Quite a few nice options are fitted which include Termignoni carbon exhausts + Eprom chip, HEL braided brake lines, Carbon fibre front fender, Carbon fibre rear hugger and chainguard, Carbon fibre number plate hanger, Carbon fibre exhaust heatshield, Ducati Corse tank pad, White front number board, White and Red seat unit, Sidestand extender and Carbon style top yoke protector

These early, torquey GSX-R1000s are an absolute weapon, by any standards, and more than a match for later bikes. The K3/K4 models being notably more compact than the original K1/K2s but retaining the almost legendary torque and mid-range that the earlier big GSX-Rs were noted for. As such, these remain a formidably fast, usable road bike

It is very difficult to find such an original 1 owner, untouched example such as this one, which will surely be one of the nicest K3s to be found

These later 800 Tigers were launched in 2016 and were claimed to be 17% more fuel efficient than the earlier models. Key improvements were a re-designed motor offering more low down power and torque, a lighter freer flowing exhaust, Switchable ABS, Switchable Traction Control (TTc) Ride By Wire Throttle (RBWt) new design cast wheels with 19″ diameter front and adjustable seat height, handlebar position, brake and clutch levers….
