The F4, designed by Massimo Tamburini, and famed for his earlier Ducati 916 design, was built to celebrate Cagiva’s purchase of the MV Agusta brand under the helm of Claudio Castiglioni, head of the family that retains ownership today. Ferrari had an influential input in to the design of the motor, which utilises radial valves and a quick to remove cassette gearbox. The 1078 RR 312 version was a real showpiece for MV’s talents, and heavily re-engineered and re-worked over it’s lesser brethren
The 312RR’s key specification included a Slipper clutch with EBS (Engine Braking System) Revised close ratio gearbox, Patented 4-2-1-2-4 Arrow quad exhaust system, Revised suspension calibration, F4 CC Sachs steering damper, Steel trellis framework with cast aluminium swingarm plates, Single sided swingarm, Lightweight 10 spoke Marchesini rims, Fully adjustable USD 50mm dia. This particular example is completely stock, standard and original, just as it left the MV factory other than the fitment of genuine MV larger bore Arrow exhausts finished in Bronze, CRC gel front nosecone protection and CRC gel tank pad
Very special, head turning machine, in excellent original condition throughout and with undoubted future collectability….
