The Norge GT 8v is Moto Guzzi’s full on touring bike aimed at the likes of BMW’s R1200RT and Honda’s Pan European, but with significantly more individuality, character and rarity. Some would say, us included, that makes it rather more desirable. It typically utilises a 90 degree air cooled V-Twin, transverse mounted, and in this case of 1151cc capacity. Power output is 102bhp and 104Nm torque, all developed low down the rev range for grunty, effortless performance
The 8v GT was launched in 2011 and was a completely new design over the previous model with the, also new, engine now sporting quatrovalvolve heads. The GT came with factory colour coded luggage panniers, an electrically operated screen, electronic ABS, multifunction trip computer, heated grips, centre stand and 12v auxiliary power supply. Furthermore, this particular bike has the optional Moto Guzzi luggage rack, and top box with pillion backrest
It’s mechanical specification included Magneti Marelli IAW fuel injection and engine management, 45mm diameter forks with adjustable preload, fully adjustable rear monoshock suspension, twin 320mm diameter front discs with Brembo Gold-Line 4 piston calipers, stainless steel 2 into 1 exhaust system and, of course, CARC shaft drive
An excellent well cared for example of an individual and unusual bike, genuinely rare to be found and all the more desirable for it
