The ‘Battle of the Kings’ is a custom show open to all UK and Europe wide H-D franchised dealers whereupon a specific model of Harley is chosen and respective dealers will work their magic on it. All a bit of fun, and in 2017 the chosen bike was a Sportster, and this particular one was built by Surrey Harley Davidson in Guildford

These ’48’ models have traditional minimalistic old skool retro styling with an abundance of nice detailing and custom style parts such as a Slammed speedo and Underbar mounted mirrors, Shortened front hugger, Hand finished Peanut style fuel tank with bespoke ‘Forty Eight’ decals, 16″ black spoked wheels with fat MT90 front tyre and Factory finished custom quality paint, The motor is an Evolution (Blockhead) 1200cc V-Twin, Rubber mounted, Fuel injected with Chrome rocker covers and a Factory fitted H-D Smart Security System features along with Keyless Start
This particular bike has factory fitted ABS and other key upgrades fitted including a Stage 1 Roland Sands Design (RSD) Tracker 2 into 1 exhaust with Vance and Hines heatshields, Stage 1 Screamin’ Eagle high flow air filter, Side mounted licence plate, Dunlop D40 Whitewall tyres, Custom quilted seat and a Flat bar conversion
It looks absolutely fabulous, and of course, the low revving motor offers the aural delights associated with, and indeed necessary, for this type of machine with the RSD Tracker exhaust being a particular feature. Low seat and big capacity, torquey, untemperamental, V-Twin combine to give a supremely comfortable, and enjoyable cruiser. Modified 48s are truly wonderful individual motorcycles, probably the best of their type. This one is essentially as new with just 2000 miles, and has an interesting provenance and history.
