The M900 i.e. was so designated because of it’s Marelli electronic fuel injection (iniezione eletronnica) and utilised Ducati’s fabled Desmodromic air cooled 90 degree V-Twin in 2v SOHC form developing 78bhp and 53 lb/ft. The chassis was a tubular steel trellis frame with an aluminium swingarm. Braking was by Brembo with the suspension honours shared between Showa and Ohlins. The introduction of fuel injection also brought with it a completely new high volume airbox and electronic instruments with an LCD display
As previously mentioned, this particular bike is a Metallica factory limited edition with the fuel tank finished in an incredible dark blue metallic metalflake paint scheme. It has an abundance of carbon fibre and hydrodipped parts which include it’s Wheels, Upper front fairing, Rear seat cowl, Front mudguard, Rear hugger and chainguard, Timing belt covers, Belly pan, Clutch cover, Infill panels, and Lower seat panels
Additionally it has a Dark tint HID headlamp, Tail tidy, LED indicators and Bar end mirrors and, significantly, carbon exhaust cans which both sound and look beautiful
Now bordering on modern classic status, this bike has a distinct character, and remains very capable. With its low mileage ownership and provenance, it needs nothing at all, MOTd July 2023, timing belts up to date and a further health check very recently perfomed at Ducati Alton. Fabulous bike…
