MODEL SUMMARY.
Beautiful, fully restored and totally usable Honda CL360 K0 Scrambler
These were US market only, being the off road ‘trailie’ version of the mechanically similar CB360
This is a 1974 K0 version with all original frame and engine numbers, and has been in the UK many years previously to being registered in 2018
Between 2018 and mid 2020 it was fully restored, both aesthetically and mechanically, with a fortune spent on it appreciably in excess of the asking price here, much of which is documented
The CL model was typified by it’s high level side mounted exhaust system, and cross braced handlebars, along with revised gearing and carburettor jetting to suit the different high level ‘pipes
The 360 as a generic model replaced the 350 and had a more torque optimised motor, offering stronger bearings, much improved lubrication, twin carburettors and a six speed gearbox
The frame was completely new, of tubular construction with a single downtube which split into a cradle to support the engine. The quality of welded joints was significantly improved from an aesthetic, if not strength point of view, all lending itself to a higher quality product
The engine and general mechanical reconditioning work completed on this bike is extensive, too much to list here, but suffice to say it is fully documented and that work alone totals £5500
That sum doesn’t even start to take account of the aesthetic restoration which includes the the newly powder coated frame being fitted up with essentially new old stock parts, ensuring that this little bike remains true to it’s original specification in all key detail. A true ‘labour of love’ with very little consideration for cost, just the ultimate accomplishment of having an ‘as new’ CL360
And so, of course, the bike starts instantly on it’s electric starter, and indeed very easily on the kick start. It rides beautifully, and is great fun as one would imagine
The bike is registered Historic for tax and MOT purposes, and we also have an extensive range of spares to go with it. It also has a Clymer maintenance manual, and original Honda owners’ manual
Additionally, it also has a second seat with hump, as can be seen in one of the photographs. As with the fitted seat this is fully reconditioned, and as new
As a classic bike, eminently usable, and with dependability, this one ticks all the boxes. Brilliant little machine, just lovely
