MODEL SUMMARY.
Wow. 2009 09 Reg Moto Morini 1200 Corsaro Veloce in Rosso Red. A very rare piece of Italian exotica, very special, and very accomplished….
10000 miles with a very good service history. Original stamped service book and meticulously documented history of all work carried out since new. Service bills/invoices. Old MOTs. New MOT provided at point of sale. Clear HPI report. Just had Silkolene Pro 4 XP 10w 60 fully synthetic oil service. All books/documents/keys present. The owner was a most keen and enthusiastic keeper, and has loved and cherished the bike, ensuring correct and regular maintenance
UK importer (Three Cross Motorcycles) + 1 family from new. Originally registered to Three Cross Motorcycles the bike did a quick stint as a press release bike and featured in a couple of UK magazine articles. It was then sold in 2010 to it’s second recorded keeper, and then in 2020 ownership transferred to his partner, and she has had it ever since….
What is it ? Well, it’s a hand built Italian special built in very limited numbers by Moto Morini, an Italian manufacturer with a significant history dating back to the ’50s. It’s a powerful, naked bike aimed at the likes of Aprilia’s Tuono and Ducati’s Monster, but appreciably rarer and more powerful than those manufacturer’s bike of the same era. The engine is Moto Morini’s own, designated Bialbero Corsa Corta, and designed by ex Ferrari engine designer Franco Lambertini. It’s an 87 degree V-Twin of 1200cc capacity, developing 140 bhp and 123 Nm (90 lb ft) acting as a stressed member. This power combined with such a small and light chassis, and with such high levels of torque in particular, make these machines fantastically exciting, and very quick
The rest of the mechanical specification utilises all the best Italian componentry including Termignoni exhausts and Race ECU, Marzochhi Magnum 50mm dia. fully adjustable forks, Ohlins fully adjustable monoshock rear suspension, Brembo Gold Series calipers, Brembo Radial master cylinder, Brembo lightweight alloy rims, Tubular trellis frame constructed from ALS450 alloy, Magneti Marelli fuel injection with 54mm dia. throttle bodies and IAW engine electronics
This is the ‘Veloce’ model, a term often used in respect of uprated higher performance Italian variants. It simply translates as ‘High Speed’ and what the Veloce model offers over the base model is significantly the Termignoni exhausts and Race ECU with dedicated heatshields, uprated Marzochhi Magnum 50mm dia. fully adjustable forks in Black, Ohlins fully adjustable monoshock rear suspension and Brembo lightweight alloy rims in Black. And of course, even more rarity value
Completely standard and untouched, as it left the factory, ensures that this particular bike is a very rare find indeed that will not easily be found elsewhere
We know and love these bikes having owned one ourselves for 12 years now. They are very well built, and very high quality, a machine of extreme excitement, very quick, and very capable in terms of their handling and braking. They are about as rare as rare gets, and in our view infinitely more desirable than the more plentiful rivals from other Italian and Japanese factories
If you wish to own something different, then this bike is it, and it’s very unlikely that you’ll see another unless part of an arranged meet
