The RS model is a very rare machine, with just over 400 units produced for the worldwide markets. Of those, just 45 were produced in yellow as here, with the balance being red examples
The Tornado Novecento Tre 900 is in itself a most unusual and exotic motorcycle, but the RS model was so much more. Far from being just being just a marketing exercise, it was a radically re-engineered bike, with very great differences to it’s mechanical specification, and resultantly at a different price level…

This particular example was supplied new in the UK, and has had just 1 owner throughout it’s 20 year life. It’s owner was knowlegdable and mechanically able, and the bike has been very well cared for throughout his ownership
Standard and original RS specification other than for a carbon Arrow exhaust, carbon fibre tank pad, suede alcantara seat cover, paddock stand bobbins and anodised brake/clutch fluid reservoirs. The original specification titanium Arrow exhaust is also supplied in brand new, never fitted condition, along with the standard Brembo fluid reservoirs

It has just had a major service performed at our instruction, which has included a new timing chain, valve clearances checked/adjusted, spark plug replacement, new Twin Air Racing air filter and Shell Advance Ultra 15w 50 fully synthetic oil. Also has brand new Continental Conti Sport Attack tyres fitted
Worth mentioning is that it has also had all warranty upgrades and modifications completed early in it’s life including Z25 gear shaft, clutch basket/housing, alternator nut/washer/loctite, cam tensioner spring, core plugs and output shaft sprocket nut
These bikes are characterised by their rear mounted radiator and twin cooling fans and have a high mechanical specification so typical of these smaller volume Italian manufactured models. Additionally, over and above that discussed so far, this includes the 898cc triple cylinder motor with counter balance shaft, Removable ‘cassette’ type gearbox, Factory fitted Arrow titanium exhaust, Extreme Technology steering damper, 240mm rear disc and twin piston caliper, Assymetric cast aluminium swingarm, Carbon fibre heel plates and factory fitted colour coded Race cowl
The first impression of these bikes is that of a slightly clattery, and mechanical machine, certainly versus a Japanese in-line 4. However, that soon changes and with the oil warmed through, and the bike ridden as intended, the motor is quite wondrous, hugely willing, musical, one that just thrives on revs and with a distinctive triple cylinder howl
