Just had timing belts, fresh Shell Ultra advance fully synthetic oil and chain/sprockets. Good matching Metzeler Rennsports. The Ducati 916 launched in 1994 and very simply put blew the world away. At that time, the prettiest (arguably remaining to this day) most focussed, beatifully designed motorcycle there had ever been, and a significant game changer on all levels. If ever a bike was destined to become a future classic, well, this was it, and 24 years after it’s launch, any 916/996/998 Ducati, from a Biposto, to an SPS, to an R, remains a thing of beauty, and hugely desirable. This particular bike has excellent provenance and history, having come to us from it’s owner of the last 18 years. The history file is extensive, and interesting, with all original books and manuals, period Ducati Corse brochures, and the original bill of sale showing the cost to the original owner to be £13500. Essentially a very original, standard bike, it has absolutely must have JHP carbon exhausts, which both look and sound glorious, and the associated JHP air filter kit and Eprom chip. Original exhausts and original Eprom chip also present and supplied. It also has a carbon fibre rear hugger and chainguard, carbon fibre exhaust heatshield, carbon style tank pad and a polished top yoke. The standard mechanical specification included fully adjustable Showa 43mm dia. BPF front suspension, fully adjustable Showa rear suspension, Gold Brembo 4 piston calipers, 320mm dia. front brake discs, steering damper, quick release fairings and body panels, and an easily replaceable dry clutch (of course) Totally fit and healthy, an excellent bike. JHP cans sound great, working in harmony with the air filter and chip to give perfect fuelling, resulting in a very nice, hugely enjoyable 916. A rock solid investment that can only rise in value.
