The Gen 3 S1000RR was launched in 2015 and really moved the game on from the previous version. Significantly re-engineered in all key areas, these bikes, very briefly, had a new lighter frame, new lighter (by 3kg) exhaust system, Semi Active suspension previously seen on the HP4 model, completely revised software/electronics package, re-designed cylinder head/valves/cams/induction system to give 199bhp / 83 lb ft, and new electrical system and instruments. It all amounted to an almost new bike. The model improved year by year with continuously evolving electronics and control systems, and so it is very much a case of the later, the better with these bikes
