MODEL SUMMARY.
Exceptionally clean example of a 5VY 4th Generation YZF-R1, 2004 04 Reg. in Lava Red Metallic with just 13000 miles covered. Previously sold by us to last owner. Fully documented service history including it’s original stamped service book, service bills/invoices, original bill of sale and all old MOTs. Recent service with spark plugs and new chain/sprockets. Has some particularly nice bits fitted including stainless Scorpion de-cat exhausts, Power Commander 5, Dynojet Quickshifter, Pipercross air filter, Carbon fibre front hugger, Paddock stand bobbins, Tank pad and a Tail tidy. META Category 1 alarm/immobiliser. The 5VY 4th Generation bikes were a completely new model and for the first time ever a power to weight ratio of 1:1 was met for a production machine i.e 172bhp for 172kg weight (or 1000 bhp/tonne) for a ‘dry’ bike. This naturally grew the R1’s fearsome reputation with a 175mph top speed, with one road test achieving the 1/4 mile in 9.9s. This particular bike really is a very nice example of what is a much sought after R1 model, one of the greatest superbikes of it’s generation. MOTd August 2018.
