These 2014 F-E onwards variants, are also referred to as an RC79 or a Gen 8.  Their styling closely follows that of the original 1997 VFR800 RC46 Gen 5 (previous generations were 750s) which was pronounced as the best motorcycle in the world upon it’s launch. As with all VFRs, they are a bike of supremely rounded abilities, a bike of total completeness, being fast, comfortable, a competent sports bike or tourer, with an engine of immense usability and character, and Honda’s build quality at it’s finest

The specification was greatly enhanced over earlier models, and included an LED headlamp, Traction-Control, 4 piston radial calipers, new lighter 10 spoke wheels, new forks and Pro-Arm swingarm, adjustable seat height and self cancelling indicators. Overall weight was down 10kg and the motor was revised to produce more usable low to mid range torque with a smoother VTEC transition. The wonderful, and characteristic engine note of the V4 remained, an absolute jewel of a motor with a completely unburstable feel
