These are an utterly incredible machine, building greatly on the foundations of the earlier single cylinder 690 Duke. The 799cc motor is a parallel twin with balancer shafts and DLC coated finger followers, developing 105 ps and 87 Nm, and mated to it’s 6 speed gearbox via an antihopping ‘slipper’ clutch
The technology is astonishing for a bike at this price level, and incorporates Bosch 9MP disengageable electronic ABS with SuperMoto mode, Lean angle sensitive traction control (MTC + MSR) Ride Mode technology with customisable ‘Track’ settings, Launch Control, Engine Braking Control (EBC) Quickshifter + / DownBlipper, 12 stage adjustable tapered alumnium bars and levers, Ride-by-Wire throttle (RBW) LED lighting all round, Multifunctional TFT instrument panel, 43mm diameter USD WP forks and WP rear mono shock, with progressive spring and adjustable preload
It all adds up to a seriously accomplished machine, very capable at all levels, and one that takes the fun factor to an altogether new level. The agility and sheer rideability of these bikes is almost legendary
