MODEL SUMMARY.
Delightful Triumph Trophy 100C 500, in Maroon and Silver. 1970 vintage with matching frame and engine numbers. Imported from the USA around 3 years ago, this was a good bike that has now had a sympathetic, moderate restoration from it’s Triumph Owners’ Motorcycle Club (TOMCC) member and is now a beautifully clean, fit and healthy example. We have a fair amount of American paperwork showing it’s provenance, and various import and registration documentation. Recently registered on to a 1970 ‘H’ suffix plate by it’s sole UK owner. The T100C model was a more rugged, ‘Scrambler’ esque variant of the more powerful Daytona T100R. Key differences were high level single side mounted exhausts, a detuned motor offering 38bhp (vs. 41) a single Amal carb (vs. twin) no tachometer, a smaller front brake and a smaller headlamp. This particular bike remains true to it’s origins other than for the fitment of brand new, more elegant, low mounted T100R Daytona silencers that, as with all these old British twins sound superb, so reminiscent of a golden bygone era. Restoration work included beautifully re-finished petrol tank, powder coating and re-chroming to many parts, overhaul and recalibration of the speedometer, new oil seals to the motor, re-spoked and trued wheels, new tyres, fitment of Boyer electronic ignition and the previously mentioned new replacement silencers, in addition to much more. So, an excellent example of a classic British bike, one that starts, runs and rides just as it should, and that will instil much pride of ownership and pleasure. It will only increase in value, but can very much be used and enjoyed on those sunny summer rides
