MODEL SUMMARY.
Genuine UK supplied Yamaha FZR1000 EXUP in in very rare Fine Silver, which was offered for one year only and sold in limited numbers
Registered June 1989 on an ‘F’ prefix
This bike has a huge amount of history, continuous throughout it’s lifetime, and has it’s original service book and owners’ manual, along with extensive paperwork which allows it’s life during the last 37 years to be seen in some detail. Complete known ownership from new, with the last owner owning it twice between 1990 and 2003, and then from 2013 to 2025…
…a paperwork trail such as this is not to be taken lightly. This is not some random bike with no paperwork present and a gazillion owners, or indeed an imported bike where nothing of it’s previous overseas life is known
Supplied new in June 1989 by Capital City Motorcycles Limited in North West London to it’s original owner in North London
Sold in October 1989 to it’s second owner living in Hove, East Sussex
Sold in September 1990 for the sum of £4300 to it’s third owner living in Sidcup, Kent (this owner is also the last owner)
Sold by Bart’s Motorcycles Ltd of Peterborough in June 2003 to it’s fourth owner living in Spalding, Lincolnshire
Sold by Peterborough Motorcycles (previously t/a Bart’s above) in June 2004 for the sum of £2095 to it’s fifth owner living in Harlow, Essex
Sold in August 2006 to it’s sixth owner living in Brookland, Kent
Sold in September 2013 to it’s seventh and last keeper living in Swanley, Kent
Owner number three and seven are the same person, and so he owned the bike for a total of 25 years during the bike’s lifetime to date
With every MOT present, including handwritten items from 1992 to the computerised era items from 2006 onwards, it can be seen that the bike covered 27800 miles in the 24 years between 1989 and 2013, and as such has covered just 600 miles in the last 12 years, although it has been MOTd at various points within that period. Recent servicing work detailed above does ensure that the bike runs beautifully without issue, and is ready to be used and enjoyed this coming season. It doesn’t need anything
Paperwork present, discussed previously, includes it’s original service book, original owner’s manual, bills of sale, service bills/invoices, old V5s and a clear HPI report. A new MOT will be provided at point of sale. The original books are in excellent ‘unthumbed’ undamaged condition. Proper timewarp stuff
These FZR1000 EXUPs built upon the earlier Genesis model, and quite simply blew the competition into the weeds. With it’s EXUP (Exhaust Ultimate Powervalve) exhaust system, the 20v motor developed 145bhp and Italian motorcycling journal Motosprint clocked one in 1991 at 170mph and at a 1/4 mile time of 10.18s at 135mph. They are truly astonishing figures for the time, and indeed remain extremely respectable 37 years on
Very rare to find one of these in with such excellent provenance. Totally stock and standard in it’s specification, proudly displaying all it’s originally fitted parts, from it’s indicators, to it’s levers, to it’s clear screen, to it’s exhaust system etc…
Wonderful bike that would grace any ’80s collection, but also entrely usable and will provide much enjoyment to it’s new keeper
