MODEL SUMMARY.
Excellent example of a comparatively rare Moto Guzzi California 1400 Touring ABS in Nero Ambassador (Ambassador Black) a majestic machine in every sense of the word
Registered June 2014 with appropriate personalised registration number ‘CA11 GUZ’
18000 miles with service history including it’s original stamped service book, service bills/invoices and old MOTs.Just had Motul 7100 10w 60 fully synthetic lube service. Major service completed at 15700 miles. MOTd March 2024. Clear HPI certificate. All books/keys/documents present
The California 1400 ceased production in 2020, and was Guzzi’s big touring/cruising bike aimed at the Harley Road King, Triumph’s Thunderbird and Kawasaki’s VN1700, amongst others. As with all Guzzis, it‘s a bike of individuality, character, (relative) rarity and desirability
It typically utilises a 90 degree air cooled V-Twin, transverse mounted, in this case of 1380cc capacity, with quattrovalvolve heads. Power output is 95bhp and a thumping 88 lb ft torque, but that only tells half the story. The torque curve is flat, with dollops of pulling power available all the way from tickover to give grunty, effortless performance throughout the range
The top of the range Touring package includes ABS, Switchable ATC Traction Control, Switchable engine maps, Colour coded factory panniers, Cruise control, Additional driving lamps, LCD instrument panel with multifunction trip computer and Touring screen
This bike also has (very expensive) Lafranconi exhausts, which just look and sound superb, and a Hepco and Becker chrome back rest. Additionally, it has had it’s very prominent cylinder head covers painted in red, which look quite wonderful, and has a chrome oil cooler cover fitted. It also has a META Category 1 alarm/immobiliser
Not that many of these to be found, even less so with Lafranconi exhausts, and this one very much at an entry level price. Presents a good opportunity for someone
