MODEL SUMMARY.
Honda CBR900RR-X 918 in gorgeous colours of Pure Red Pearl/Lapis Blue Metallic/White and Black
A UK bike, first registered in September 2000 and just 4 owners from new. Current mileage is 13600 miles
We have just completed a Shell Advance Ultra fully synthetic oil service with new NGK CR9EH-9 spark plugs, and we have also had the carburettors stripped/ultrasonically cleaned/balanced. K&N air filter is fitted. MOTd until March 2024. The VOSA mileage history report comprehensively shows the mileage to be correct, and it is provided with a clear HPI report, original owners’ manual and two keys
The 900 RR-X is the last of the ‘original’ carb fed ‘Blades, prior to the introduction of the 929 RR-Y, and this particular bike is the very last of the RR-X’s. The Fireblade was the most significant bike of it’s time when launched in 1992, and set the tone for all future sports bike development. The key thing was it’s light weight compared to other big sports bikes such as Yamaha’s Thunderace and Kawasaki’s ZX-9R. Between 1992 and 1999, the Fireblade was continually honed and developed, ultimately culminating in this model, the RR-X, the last of the carb fed models, and the last of an era as the later Fi ‘Blades were very different bikes
This bike is in very good condition, and minor upgrades made to it include an uprated Ohlins rear shock unit, Goodridge braided brake lines, Scorpion exhaust, Pyramid rear hugger and Tinted screen. It remains essentially true to how it left the Honda showroom almost 23 years ago
This bike will clearly appeal to any buyer that places great importance on originality, ownership provenance, and low mileage, three of the most important factors, in our view, when purchasing any collectable car or motorcycle, and it must not be confused with more plentiful, lesser examples with much higher mileages and number of owners
This bike has had a relatively easy existence and with it’s genuine low mileage of 13600 miles rides quite beautifully. Fireblades of this era are so comfortable compared to more modern sportsbikes, as well as being totally docile and untemperamental. In essence, just a lovely machine to ride with a super sweet motor, and of course still very quick
Perhaps a classic in the making, but in any case a bike which can be enjoyed whilst serving as a sound investment
