The original CBR900RR Fireblade was lauched in 1992, and was truly a game changing motorcycle
It’s combination of light weight, agility, power and performance had hitherto at that point just never been seen. The original bikes were designated SC28, and our bike is one of those
The first Generation SC28 was manufactured between 1992 and 1993, and then for the 1994 model year (identical to 1995) it underwent some subtle but not overly significant improvements. Namely these were a change of twin headlamps, to the ‘Foxeye’ design seen here, and revisions to the gear linkage, shift drum and further adjustment capability on the front forks
All SC28s are becoming increasing rare, and ever more desirable. This particular bike remains true to it’s original design and specification other than the fitment of a (super sweet sounding) stainless MTC exhaust and rear hugger. Quite significantly it retains it’s original 16″ front wheel, and is fitted with excellent tyres front and rear
As already mentioned, it is in quite lovely condition, and will turn heads and create interest in it wherever it goes. The Fireblade attributes of a wonderfully docile, and yet so potent motor, coupled to a comfortable, user friendly chassis, ensure that this up and coming classic motorbike is genuinely an absolute joy to use and enjoy, as well as being a wonderful ownership proposition
Opportunities to buy an early SC28 ‘Foxeye’ Fireblade such as this should not be taken for granted, and are relatively few and far between. A classic in the making, and one which can be enjoyed whilst serving as a good long term investment
