MODEL SUMMARY.
Gorgeous MV Agusta F4 1078RR 312, a very special and beautiful motorcycle, not to be confused with the earlier 998cc 312R. In the unique Pearl White and Pastel Black colour scheme, with bespoke red and silver decals. Totally standard, and as it left the MV factory, other than for upgraded glorious sounding, factory approved, large bore Arrow RG3 exhausts and a Powerbronze double bubble screen. 14000 miles with all it’s original books/owners wallet/keys etc, etc. Just had Motorex 10w/60 fully synthetic lube service and new tyres and chain/sprockets fitted. The F4, designed by Massimo Tamburini, and famed for his earlier Ducati 916 design, was built to celebrate Cagiva’s purchase of the MV Agusta brand under the helm of Claudio Castiglioni, head of the family that retains ownership today. Ferrari had an influential input in to the design of the motor, which utilises radial valves and a quick to remove cassette gearbox. The 1078RR 312 version was a real showpiece for MV’s talents, and heavily re-engineered and re-worked over it’s lesser brethren. The 312RR’s key specification included a Slipper clutch with EBS (Engine Braking System) Revised close ratio gearbox, Revised bespoke ‘312’ exhaust tail pipes (upgraded Arrow RG3s in this particular case, as mentioned) Revised suspension calibration, F4 CC Sachs steering damper, Steel trellis framework with cast aluminium swingarm plates, Single sided swingarm, Lightweight 10 spoke Marchesini rims, Fully adjustable USD 50mm dia. Marzocchi forks, Fully adjustable Sachs rear monoshock, Brembo monobloc silver brake calipers with red lettering, Quick release body panels, seat unit, fuel tank and airbox, Patented 4-2-1-2-4 Arrow quad exhaust system, Integrated LED tail light and LCD/Analogue instruments. Very special, head turning machine, in excellent original condition throughout and with undoubted future collectability. MOTd September 2018
