MODEL SUMMARY.

1996 Model Year, registered late 1995 on an ‘N’ prefix, Harley Softail Heritage Classic in Patriot Red Pearl with Red and Gold Pinstripes (Paint Code 98603 BJ) Has covered just 2560 miles from new. UK supplied new by Windy Corner Harley Davidson, it was ridden only a handful of times before being put into storage due to ill health on the part of the owner, whom sadly subsequently passed away from his illness. The family retained the bike, unused and in proper heated (carcoon type) storage, until 2011 when they sold it on to a friend of theirs and the original owner. The bike at that point was taken to Black Bear Harley Davidson in Newmarket for light recommissioning and a small service. We have now taken the bike in part exchange against a Maserati 4200 GT, of all things, from the 2nd owner whom has known the bike from new. Because of it’s lack of use, even since being sold on by the original family owners, it has in early 2018 had additional light mechanical recommissioning including fresh semi-synthetic 20w/50 engine and primary drive oils, fresh semi-synthetic 75W/90 GL5 transmission oil,  Champion RN12 YC Plugs, Carburettor strip/ultrasonic clean, Fuel tank flush and Deep Clean, Detail and ACF50 Anti-Corrosive Treatment

With all studded leather luggage kit, chrome luggage rack, pillion seat and padded backrest, tall screen (not currently fitted, but shown in one of the photographs) and a few other original Harley chrome bits, this bike remains very close to how it left the showroom in 1995. Harley Softails are defined by their ’50s retro styling, outsized mudguards, long forks, abundant use of chrome and studded leather, and with concealed horizontal rear suspension to give the appearance of the original, bone shaking iconic Hardtails. Being a 1996 model year machine, this one has the last incarnation of the 1340cc Evolution (EVO) engine, designated FX4R. This engine almost single handedly turned the company’s fortune around when released in the mid ’80s, and plays a most significant part in Harley Davidson’s more recent history. Of all aluminium construction, with gear driven single camshaft, carburettor fed, 2v per cylinder OHV, it ensures that this bike sounds quite wonderful, either when sitting at idle, or blasting up and down thru’ the gears

It does not need to be explained as to the rare nature of finding one of these with such low mileage, ownership provenance and originality. The bike is quite lovely, totally original (other than for refurbished rims) and rides and runs beautifully.

As such, this bike offers a not easily found opportunity, perhaps even a unique one

Glorious Ducati 1198S Corse SE Special Edition in Ducati’s Corse Red/White/Black colour scheme. 2 owners from new, 10000 miles, supplied by JHP Ducati Coventry and serviced and maintained exclusively by them with the original stamped service book and every service invoice present, along with the original bill of sale. £1750 worth of Ducati Corse Carbon Fibre and JHP options, again with each and every invoice for when those parts were purchased from JHP. The 1198S (and very exclusive homologation special 1198R) Corse SE models were introduced in 2010 with exceptionally high mechanical specifications, and marked the introduction of a new Ducati Corse (Racing) logo. They are significant machines in Ducati superbike history, being the last of an era of bikes that had the Ducati trademark trellis framework and a belt driven motor (the 1198SP was actually the very last of the line, but was not a Special Edition Corse model) These two things alone had characterised Ducati super bikes since 1986, and disappeared with the introduction of the 1199 Panigale.
