MODEL SUMMARY.
Highly original and essentially standard , ZRX 1200R A2P Eddie Lawson Replica in Candy Lime Green, White and Metallic Violet (colour code 367) The pictures ably demonstrate how smart and clean this bike is
UK supplied with 25900 miles with the last keeper owning it for 7 years. Lots of paperwork and history present including it’s original stamped service book, service bills/invoices and old MOTs. Recent service including oil and filter, spark plugs, and valve clearances checked, and conscientiously maintained year on year by it’s enthusiastic owner in spite of minimal usage in recent times. We have just stripped and ultrasonically cleaned the carburettors. Brand new Michelin Pilot Power tyres. All original books/manuals/documents/keys present
This is an early model ZRX 1200R, designated A2P, and defined by it’s black exhaust headers as opposed to stainless seen on later variants, and Gold brake calipers. In the ultimate Kawasaki colour scheme of Candy Lime Green, White and Metallic Violet they are referred to as Eddie Lawson Replicas due to their very distinct nod back to their predecessor the Z1100R
It is just how you would want it, untouched and not messed around with. Properly looked after, it both runs beautifully and looks superb. Nice options fitted include beautiful carbon fibre airbox and side panel covers, sourced from the US at a cost of £400, and we have the original parts as well. It also has a stainless steel radiator guard, Goodridge braided brake lines, an MRA tinted screen and extremely sweet sounding stainless exhaust can
Mechanically it retains all it’s key specification including 36mm CV Keihin carbs, K-Tric electronic ignition, fully adjustable 43mm front forks with (early spec.) black stanchions, piggyback adjustable rear shocks, 6 piston calipers finished in gold grabbing hold of 310mm diameter discs, reinforced swingarm with eccentric hub adjuster, bronze finished engine casings etc…
The bike is totally fit and healthy, and just rides beautifully. A properly quick bike in their day, the torquey 122bhp / 83 lb ft motor allowed a sub 11s 1/4 mile time, and a top speed of over 150 mph. Now very much a modern classic, this bike remains a blast to ride on a sunny day, having very good brakes, easy, surprisingly agile handling, and being supremely comfortable. Just a very nice machine for pleasure riding.
So there it is, a genuinely modern classic in highly original condition and specification. A rare sight on our roads, and at bike meets generally, it will always turn heads and attract interest whilst proving most pleasurable to own
