MODEL SUMMARY.
Original launch model Kawasaki ZX-12R A1 in Phantom Silver Metallic. Registered 2001 on a ‘Y’ prefix, this particular bike has covered just 5700 miles from new, and is in completely standard and original specification
Supplied new in March 2001 by UK franchised dealers Carnell Motorcycles of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. Sold to it’s last keeper in August 2023 by Fowlers of Bristol. Completely standard, stock and original other than for the fitment of a Rear hugger/chainguard, Renntec pillion rail (removed in minutes if required) and R&G paddock stand bobbins
It has a good amount of documentation present, which includes it’s original stamped service book, original PDI paperwork from Carnell Motorcycles in Milton Keynes, original Datatag paperwork, original alarm installation paperwork, service bills/invoices, old MOTs, all other original owners’ manuals/books, and all keys

The paperwork and history trail is very good throughout the bike’s life, entirely consistent with it’s mileage and use
This is the original ZX-12R A1 model launched in 2000, and unashamedly aimed at the two other hyperbike greats of the time: namely Honda’s Super Blackbird and Suzuki’s Hayabusa. Hitherto the introduction of those two models in 1996 and 1999 respectively, Kawasaki’s own ZZR1100 had rightly laid claim to the accolade of the worlds fastest motorcycle…
…the Super Blackbird put paid to that in 1996, but it’s glory was short lived with the Hayabusa’s launch 3 years later. The ZX-12R aimed to regain the crown, but with a distinctly more sporty character. All three were super sports tourers, with the ZX-12R on the ‘sports’ side of the fence, and the other two sitting on it, but leaning towards ‘touring’
In any case, these three were the undeniable ‘Kings of Speed’ at the turn of the millenium, and remain awesomely accomplished, powerful, fast, comfortable and smooth machines

In excellent, original condition, this bike is truly lovely, and with it’s low mileage a very rare machine to be found. These 90s/00s motorcycle icons can only be come more sought after as time goes on, and provide an opportunity to own and enjoy something whilst it quite possibly proves to be a good investment
