The M900 i.e. was so designated because of it’s Marelli electronic fuel injection (iniezione eletronnica) and utilised Ducati’s fabled Desmodromic air cooled 90 degree V-Twin in 2v SOHC form developing 78bhp and 53 lb/ft. The chassis was a tubular steel trellis frame with an aluminium swingarm. Braking was by Brembo with the suspension honours shared between Showa and Ohlins. The introduction of fuel injection also brought with it a completely new high volume airbox and electronic instruments with an LCD display

As previously mentioned, this particular bike is a Metallica factory limited edition with the fuel tank finished in an incredible dark blue metallic metalflake paint scheme. It has an abundance of carbon fibre and hydrodipped parts which include it’s Wheels, Upper front fairing, Rear seat cowl, Front mudguard, Rear hugger and chainguard, Timing belt covers, Belly pan, Clutch cover, Infill panels, and Lower seat panels

Additionally it has a Dark tint HID headlamp, Tail tidy, LED indicators and Bar end mirrors and, significantly, carbon exhaust cans which both sound and look beautiful

Now bordering on modern classic status, this bike has a distinct character, and remains very capable. With its low mileage ownership and provenance, it needs nothing at all, MOTd July 2023, timing belts up to date and a further health check very recently perfomed at Ducati Alton. Fabulous bike…

The Aprilia Dorsoduro is a quite brilliant supermoto aimed squared at Ducati’s similar Hypermotard and various offerings from KTM. It’s 896 cc V-Twin offers grunty performance from a 95bhp / 66 ft-lbs output and this, coupled with exceptional chassis and braking capability, adds up to a hugely fun motorcycle. It’s impressive technical specification includes multimap ride by wire switchable engine mapping, traction control, electronic ABS, a lap timer, gold radial Brembo brake calipers with 320mm diameter wavy discs, side mounted adjustable rear shock, 43mm dia. USD forks, trellis framework, hand guards and LCD instrumentation with various scrollable information.

This particular bike is immaculate, stock, standard and original, other than modified exhaust baffles to enhance the note of the V-Twin motor and a tail tidy

MODEL SUMMARY.

A possibly unique opportunity to buy a 1 owner, very low mileage Ducati Monster S4 RS. A rare Ducati, even amongst rare Ducatis

UK supplied by Moto Rapido to it’s sole owner in April 2006. Registered from new on a cherished registration number which stays with the bike. Incredibly, just 1285 miles from new

The bike was used during 2006-2009 and serviced annually by Moto Rapido at 628 miles 31/5/06, 1204 miles 05/09/07, and 1257 miles 01/04/09. From November 2010 at 1267 miles, the bike remained unused, always retained and stored correctly by it’s original owner. In September 2021, with the mileage still at 1267 miles, the bike was subject to a recommissioning service which included timing belts, plugs, fuel filter, brake/clutch fluid, oil/filter and coolant, and it was then MOTd in February 2022 at 1269 miles in preparation for coming to market in the summer months. Current mileage is, as previously stated, 1285 miles

The original Bridgstone BT014s, whilst still looking almost as new, will be replaced with new tyres at point of sale

And so, whilst the mileage is extremely low, and accordingly service history will be limited, we do have the original stamped service book, every service bill and invoice from Moto Rapido in the early days, the original bill of sale, the invoice for the September 2021 major service, the Original Certificate of Conformity, original Alpha Dot paperwork, all previous MOTs in existence, old tax discs, original 2006 Ducati Sales literature, the current MOT expiring February 2023 and a clear HPI report. All owner’s handbooks/documents/keys are also present (including Red ‘Master’ key)

The S4 RS utilised the later ‘Testastretta’ derivative of the 90 degree Desmo V-Twin which featured a narrow head, much revised valve gear, and had been previously seen in the 998/999 Superbikes. Developing 130 bhp and 77 lb/ft this was far and away the most powerful Monster that had been seen. The rest of the mechanical spec. utilised the best of everything and featured fully adjustable 43mm dia. Ohlins forks with TiN surface treatment, a fully adjustable rear Ohlins monoshock, gorgeous aluminium single sided swingarm and Brembo radially mounted calipers with 4 pistons/4 pads and 320mm diameter discs. The aforementioned lightweight Marchesini rims finished in White also featured

Lightweight Ducati Corse carbon fibre parts abounded including the front mudguard, rear hugger and chainguard, timing belt covers, lower seat panels, radiator end caps and exhaust shield

It all added up to a machine of superb abilities, with the distinctive Ducati Testastretta Desmo V-Twin engine sounding great and offering torquey, grunty performance, allied to confidence inspiring, surefooted, handling and agility, with hugely powerful braking

These Monster S4RS’s are genuinely very rare bikes indeed, and as already said are considerably more rare than many other rare Ducati models in terms of numbers produced, and pertinently UK supplied examples

This particular bike is an absolute dream. Just 1 owner from new and with extremely low mileage. It’s provenance is beyond question, and it is in wonderful condition. Totally stock, standard and virginal, as it left the Ducati factory. It offers a not easily found opportunity for the right buyer

This particular bike is completely stock standard and original, other than for stainless Fuel exhaust pipes which sound quite superb, with the originals also provided, and a useful luggage rack

One of the most individual superbikes of modern times, this is the ultimate RC8, the RC8 R. Genuinely a very special bike, with monstrous performance from it’s 170 bhp / 91 lb/ft 75 deg V-Twin. Out of production for many years, and never very commonplace, these bikes are few and far between, and this one has some nice options fitted which include KTM Powerparts anodised brake/clutch fluid reservoir caps, Sigma Tech anodised clutch slave cylinder, MotoGrafix gel front numberboards, Carbon fibre front hugger, Carbon fibre rear hugger, GB Racing crash mushrooms and GB Racing paddock stand bobbins

The engine was heavily modified from the standard RC8 and featured bigger capacity at 1195cc developing 170bhp / 91 lb/ft with revised camshafts and timing, a higher 13.5:1 compression ratio, DLC coated pistons and valve train components, and titanium inlet valves

The rest of the specification is hugely impressive, with a Chrome-Moly trellis frame with powder coated subframe and adjustable light alloy swingarm, Fully adjustable WP suspension, Fully adjustable WP steering damper, Forged lightweight Marchesini rims, Adjustable footrests and levers, Adjustable brake/clutch levers, handlebars and seat height, Brembo radial 4 pot calipers with 320mm dia. discs, Brembo radial front brake master cylinder, Brembo rear brake caliper, Magura radial clutch master cylinder, Lap timer and Multifunction trip computer.

Adjustability is the watchword, everything is adjustable. The RC8 R’s raison d’etre was to offer in effect a ‘kit’ race motorcycle that could be enhanced easily through the use of KTM’s extensive Powerparts range. Whether for fast road, track, or full on short circuit racing, these bikes could be very easily and cost effectively modified, and that is why the base package offered so much. A really high spec. machine ‘out of the crate’ so to speak.

With unique styling and one of the punchiest, boomiest, potent V-Twins to be had, allied to a wonderful, lithe chassis, these are a truly fabulous bike, and right at the end of the ‘analogue’ era which will surely make them very appealing in years to come
