This is a ‘Mk1 Bug Eye’ Speed Triple, but a 2008 onwards revised version which importantly included the addition of Radial Brembo brakes, and lighter, prettier 10-spoke rims.

Big, naked hooligan of a bike, with torquey, grunty triple offering fabulous musical performance, and all wrapped in a brutal looking, but still very handsome package.

In exceptional, original condition, and with complete paperwork and records, this is a rare, perhaps unique, opportunity to buy a ‘Bug Eye’ 1050 of such quality, ownership provenance and low mileage, and it must surely be one of the best of it’s type to be found. Fabulous bike.

The 848 SF (along with it’s 1098 big brother) is Ducati’s super naked offering fantastically accomplished handling and agility, combined with a wonderful 90 deg L Twin motor and surprising comfort levels.The mechanical and electronic specification is extremely high, and includes a Trellis frame constructed from ALS450 alloy, Black lightweight ‘Y’ section Marchesini wheels, Fully adjustable 43mm dia. Marzochhi forks, Fully adjustable Sachs rear shock, Brembo 4-piston calipers with 320mm diameter fully floating front discs, Single sided swingarm finished in black, LCD instruments, Brembo adjustable levers with remote span adjustment, Brembo radial master cylinders and remote reservoirs, Colour coded belly pan with 848 SF insignia and and a Ducati Electronic Engine Immobiliser.

This bike has many nice parts fitted additionally including DP (Ducati Performance) Quickshifter, DP carbon fibre rear hugger and chainguard, DP carbon fibre radiator end trims, DP carbon fibre fuel tank inlay panel, DP comfort seat (original provided) DP colour coded race cowl, Carbon fibre heel plates, Radiator and oil cooler guards, Tinted flyscreen, R&G tail tidy and Bar end mirrors

The motor produces 132bhp / 69 lb/ft, designated ‘Testastretta’ which, as it’s Italian name would suggest, is a ‘Narrow Head’  version of the DesmoQuattro motor seen in earlier Ducatis.  Aurally, and in terms of it’s power and performance, this is a quite fabulous motor.

These are a wonderful machine, and this one stands out as having been well cared for and loved throughout it’s life. Quite rare in this colour which being pearlescent is really fabulous when the sun shines on it. With it’s recent timing belts and a high quality synthetic oil service just completed, it needs nothing at all and is ready to go for it’s new keeper. MOTd February 2021. Very nice example of a 2005 05 Reg. Aprilia SL 1000 Falco in Olympic Bronze over Black

With just 3 owners from new and only 9900 miles, this bike has led a charmed life. Owner number two owned it for 10 years from 2009-2019 but simply didn’t use it, covering just 400 miles during that period. The third owner was a colleague of his and so has known the bike for many years. He purchased it in 2019 and gave it a light recommissioning service. It comes with it’s original owners’ handbook and all keys, along with a clear HPI report and VOSA mileage printout which demonstrates it’s lack of use. We will provide a 12 months MOT on it at point of sale, and have given it a lube service using Motul 5100 15w/50 semi synthetic oil. Has also had recent air filter replacement

Highly standard and original, it has GPR carbon exhausts (originals supplied) colour coded seat cowl, a taller touring screen (original supplied)  NWS carbon fibre rear hugger and chainguard, tinted headlight protector, Scottoiler, paddock stand bobbins and a Datatool S4 CAT 1 alarm/immobiliser

Quite simply, the SL 1000 Falco is the Sports Touring version of the RSV 1000 Mille superbike. It uses the same engine, just slightly detuned by around 10% to give a less peaky, smooother power delivery, and shares the very high quality race spec. Brembo calipers and fully adjustable Showa and Sachs suspension components. Aimed at the likes of Honda’s VFR, and Ducati’s ST2/ST4 models, it’s pretty focused for a sports touring machine, and properly quick. A bike of  much character, the 60 degree V-Twin motor offers the kind of soundtrack only bikes such as this can, even more so with the GPR carbon cans this particular one has.

A little piece of Italian exotica, a sports tourer with a very distinct flair, and rare to be found with such low owner and mileage provenance
