These Bullet 500 Electras are considered by many to be the last of the ‘true’ Enfields, primarily because they were the final models to utilise the pre-unit engine and separate gearbox assemblies. The Electra X, as here, was the final incarnation and offered a 5 speed gearbox with left hand side change (vs the earlier 4 on the right hand side) and a combination kick and electric start, along with a modified frame, new forks and a front disc brake. The engine was revised with a more efficient ‘lean burn’ cylinder head and featured for the first time electronic ignition. Accordingly, power output was higher than ever. They look just fantastic, and appear to have come from a different age and time, which of course is their raison d’etre, but it’s very much a case of being able to enjoy all the attributes of a true classic machine with reliability

This particular bike has the very desirable Highway Performance Kit fitted which was offered as an option. This incorporated a 32mm Dellorto carburettor, modified inlet air filtration system, and a road legal free flow silencer to produce a deeper exhaust note. It also has a frame and engine crash protection bar, and aluminium sump protector plate, both fitted by a previous conscientious owner

The 499cc air cooled OHV single cylinder motor offers ample performance for what this bike needs to offer, and has the distinctive ‘thump’ that only a big single delivers. As mentioned, the gearbox on these ‘X’ models is a 5 speed manual with left foot gearchange, accompanied by a 7-plate wet clutch. Telescopic front forks and uprated Endurance rear gas filled shocks mated with a 280mm dia. disc front brake and 152mm dia. rear drum brake ensure these little bikes handle and stop more than adequately, and 19″ diameter spoked chrome rims look nothing less than ace. Combined with a traditional speedometer and ammeter, tank knee pads, chrome headlamp cowl and rear light assembly, and full length mudguards, amongst many other styling detail touches, it all adds up to an incredibly pretty and charismatic machine, which achieves in every way exactly what it sets out to do

In terms of overall condition, this bike is very clean and has clearly been well looked after. A lovely little bike of much character, that will of course appeal to a certain type of motorcyclist and their needs. One thing is for sure, it will always turn heads, and smiles and waves are assured from onlookers. Great fun

It’s impressive technical specification includes switchable engine mapping, a lap timer, gold radial Brembo brake calipers with 320mm diameter wavy discs, fly by wire throttle, side mounted adjustable rear shock, 43mm dia. This is the later revised model introduced in 2013 with significant weight reduction over the previous model, easily identified by it’s single low sided exhaust. It is totally stock, standard, and untouched, exactly as it left the Triumph production line, other than for ever useful Scottoiler and Optimate flylead

The high technical spec. of these bikes includes electronic ABS,  Gold KYB 41mm USD forks, KYB rear mono shock, 310mm floating front discs with Gold Nissin calipers, 220mm rear disc with Brembo caliper, High pressure die cast twin spar frame with twin sided cast aluminium alloy swingarm, Cast aluminium wheels and LCD instrumentation with lap timer, gear position indicator, programmable gear change, analogue tacho, digital speedo, fuel gauge and clock.

Dynamically these are an incredible little bike, decently quick with handling and agility up there with the very best. There really isn’t much that will go through set of twisty bends quicker, and the 675 Triple is a motor of immense character, all the time emitting it’s characteristic wail, All in all, quite brilliant and this one is as clean and original as it gets. Has a few nice bits fitted but essentially a very standard bike. Options include a Carbon effect tank pad, Carbon effect top yoke protector, Motografix knee pads, R&G crash bungs, R&G paddock stand bobbins, Colour coded rear hugger, Race cowl (with pillion seat), Tail tidy, Datatool Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser other and ever useful Optimate lead. Original indicators and exhaust. These early, torquey GSX-R1000s are an absolute weapon, by any standards, and more than a match for later bikes. The K3/K4 models being notably more compact than the original K1/K2s but retaining the almost legendary torque and mid-range that the earlier big GSX-Rs were noted for. As such, these remain a formidably fast, usable road bike. The ZK4 Limited Edition bikes were just that little more desirable in terms of their unique colour scheme, badging, and general rarity

In all a decently clean, very original example of a ZK4 Limited Edition. With just 4 owners and 15000 miles, and a very good service history, it remains a very desirable, smart and fast machine. All books/documents/history/keys present

Characterised by it’s short tail, the Dragster RR builds upon the standard Brutale by having a twin injector per cylinder 140bhp motor that revs in excess of 13000 rpm, the most advanced triple cylinder motor ever produced at time of it’s launch. and has an  electronic quickshifter for both downward and upward changes, 8-level traction control, slipper clutch and (simply gorgeous) spoked wheels. Fully adjustable 43mm dia. USD Marzochhi forks, a Sachs rear shock, 200 section rear tyre, massive Brembo brakes and a gorgeous triple exhaust system (QD in this case, see below) ensure it handles, stops and sounds as good as it looks (which is very good indeed !) 3-way adjustable power maps + further 4th customisable setting and LCD instrumentation add further to the technology on offer.
