WOW ! Brilliant and compact 2001 X Reg. Ducati Monster S4 916 in Ducati Senna Grey with Grigio frame and wheels. 

8000 miles with service history, including it’s original stamped service book, the original bill of sale, an extensive amount of service bills and invoices, and all old MOTs. Has just had timing belts replaced and Shell Advance Ultra fully synthetic oil service. Good matching Michelin Pilot Powers fitted. 

As the name suggests, this was the first Ducati Monster to use the 4v Liquid Cooled Desmo engine from the 916 Superbike, and lifting the performance to new levels, with a top speed approaching 150mph, and mid 11s quarter miles.

As the flagship ‘naked’ of it’s day the S4 had a very high specification which included Brembo Gold calipers with Brembo master cylinder, Brembo rear master cylinder, fully adjustable 43mm USD Showa forks, progressive rear suspension linkage with Sachs monoshock and aluminium swingarm, tubular steel trellis frame, adjustable levers, clear and concise analogue instruments, dry clutch and 50mm throttle bodies controlled by a Marelli Magneti ECU. 

Carbon fibre parts abound and this bike has the (must have) Carbon Termignoni exhausts, Carbon fibre exhaust shield, Carbon fibre timing belt covers, Carbon fibre rear hugger and chainguard, Carbon fibre front hugger, Carbon fibre side panels, Carbon fibre belly pan, Carbon fibre yoke protector and a Ducati Performance carbon tank. Rizoma mirrors, Renthal grips and a Colour coded seat cowl are also fitted.

The distinctive Ducati Desmo V-Twin engine sounds great and offers torquey, grunty performance. This bike is highly original, very clean, and fit and healthy. It all adds up to a machine with style and character in abundance, and with a distinct future collectability. The W650 is Kawasaki’s retro parallel twin, much in the mould of the original ’60s Triumph Bonnevilles. With spoked wheels, and lots of chrome, it is not at all obvious that these bikes aren’t actually 40 years older than they really are. They look, and sound, like bikes of a wonderful bygone era, with modern reliability, whilst retaining a certain amount of old skool technology i.e carbs !

This particular bike looks well in Metallic Blue and Silver.  A fabulous old skool bike, so reminiscent of a previous age. Just lovely to cruise around on, in some style, and will always raise smiles from onlookers thanks to it’s period look and character. Looks, sounds and rides totally superb. The 5th Generation 4C8 bikes were heavily revised over the previous models and had a completely new frame, forks and swingarm, 6 pot calipers, 4v per cylinder engine and new induction technology to raise power output to 180bhp. This naturally grew the R1’s fearsome reputation with a 180mph top speed, and the 1/4 mile in just over 10s.

This bike really sets itself apart from others, in that it has had just 1 owner from new, and covered just 4700 miles. Serviced by supplying dealer Jim Aim Motorcycles in Braintree, it has just had a Motul 7100 10w 50 fully synthetic lube service and has a VOSA MOT mileage history print out and a clear HPI report. Totally standard, untouched, and original, as it left the KTM factory, other than for Domino handlebar grips. The standard very high mechanical specification includes fully adjustable WP suspension, Brembo radial 4 pots, 320mm diameter discs, Brembo rear caliper etc. 

These are well acknowledged as being somewhat of a bonkers machine with manic, grin inducing performance from their torquey 120bhp V-Twin motor, and many superbike owners have converted to them, never looking back. Just read the owner’s reviews on these.

A wonderful machine, and a rare opportunity to buy a standard example, with just 1 owner from new, and a very low mileage of 4700 miles.

A late example, this bike has covered just 14000 miles with service history, including numerous service bills/invoices and previous MOTs. Just had a major service completed at a cost of £500 (with invoice provided) which included Putoline oil/filter, brake/clutch fluids, air filter, plugs, valve clearances checked, new brake pads and wheel bearings. Uprated heavy duty stator and charging system overhauled. Also has had a new rear brake master cylinder and recent Gold DID chain/sprockets. Excellent matching Bridgestone BT016s fitted.

The RSV1000 R is an Italian V-Twin Superbike of much character. The 60 degree V-Twin  motor produces 143bhp and a grunty 79 lb/ft of torque, and of course offers the kind of soundtrack only bikes such as this can. A fairly exotic mechanical specification includes Dry sump lubrication, Magnesium engine covers, Gold Radially mounted Brembo front calipers and matching Brembo radial master cylinder. Brembo radial clutch cylinder, Gold Brembo rear caliper, Fully adjustable Ohlins forks, Fully adjustable Sachs rear suspension, LCD clocks with comprehensive menus/display and lap timer, gorgeous aluminium alloy swingarm, aluminium alloy twin spar frame and Aprilia Racing branded exhaust cans.

This particular bike has a few nice options fitted, most notably gorgeous Aprilia Performance fully adjustable rearsets. Adjustability is the watchword, everything is adjustable. The RC8 R’s raison d’etre was to offer in effect a ‘kit’ race motorcycle that could be enhanced easily through the use of KTM’s extensive Powerparts range. Whether for fast road, track, or full on short circuit racing, these bikes could be very easily and cost effectively modified, and that is why the base package offered so much. A really high spec. machine ‘out of the crate’ so to speak.

With unique styling and one of the punchiest, boomiest, potent V-Twins to be had, allied to a wonderful, lithe chassis, these are a truly fabulous bike, and right at the end of the ‘analogue’ era which will surely make them very appealing in years to come. These Quadrifoglio Verde (or ‘Green 4 Leaf Cloverleaf’) models use the 1742cc 4-cylinder Turbocharged Petrol 16v DOHC motor from the utterly gorgeous 4C developing 240 ps and 340 Nm torque in standard form. This particular car runs a TDi-Tuning.com Tuning Box to give a claimed 295 PS and 408 Nm torque. Coupled with the TCT (Twin Clutch Transmission) semi auto gearbox with paddleshift, it’s enough for a top speed of over 150mph, and 0-60 in under 6 secs

The 1.75 litre engine is particularly significant. The ‘Alfatisti’ will confirm that many Alfas throughout the company’s magnificent racing heritage have utilised 1750cc motors, and so it’s all most appropriate. This motor is a traditional Twin Cam 16v ‘4’ and Alfa have intentionally engineered it’s induction note to sound, well, traditional, in a way that a twin cam Alfa should

MODEL SUMMARY.

Ducati Panigale 1199 R in Ducati Rosso Anniversario with Brushed Aluminium Tank and Corse Decals. 2013 13 Reg. A piece of Italian art.

4500 miles with full and up to date documented service history, including it’s original stamped service book, previous bill of sale from JHP, service bills/invoices and old MOTs. Just had Shell Advance Ultra fully synthetic lube service and has excellent matching Pirelli Diablo Rosso Supercorsa SPs fitted. MOTd June 2020. All books/history/documents/keys present.

An utterly fabulous machine, the Panigale 1199 R launched in 2013 and shared virtually nothing in common with it’s forebear, the 1198 R. Most significantly, it was frameless, using it’s engine and airbox as it’s chassis where the engine itself acts as a stressed member.

The ‘R’ was the fourth variant of the ‘new’ 1199 range and followed the original launch models, those being the the ‘1199’, the ‘1199 S’ and the hitherto this point range topping ‘1199 Tricolore S’. List price when new in 2013 was £27000 and the model was, in common with all the Ducati R models that preceded it, the ultimate expression of Ducati’s engineering prowess. It’s raison d’etre solely for the purpose of homologating key parts for racing purposes. It goes without saying that these bikes are rare, exclusive and have a distinct current and future collectability.

The motor itself was quite heavily modified over the standard ‘SuperQuadro’ unit, and significantly had titanium rods, a lighter flywheel, DLC anti friction coated rocker arms and revised Mitsubishi fuelling/mapping. This resulted in an internal weight saving of 1.3 kg, lending itself to faster ‘spinning up’ and allowing an increased rev limit of 12000 rpm (+500 rpm over lesser versions) Ducati’s engineers then shortened the bike’s gearing to 15/41, and added a full Termignoni ‘Racing Evo’ exhaust system (officially for ‘track use’ only) which grew crankshaft power to 202bhp. And so, the already fearsome ‘big’ Panigale, became even faster, even noiser, even more monstrous, and of course, even more desirable.

The ‘R’ also had a beautifully crafted and finished lightweight aluminium fuel tank, and a 4 way adjustable swingarm pivot. It wore many expensive Ducati Corse Carbon Fibre parts, quite befitting of it’s £27000 price tag. These included a  front hugger, rear hugger, ignition shroud, heel guards, infill panels, clutch cover, rear suspension guard and swingarm protector.

Bristling with high technological electronic and mechanical componentry the rest of the specification included Ohlins NIX30 43mm dia. TiN coated forks with electronic compression and rebound adjustment, Ohlins TTX36 monoshock with electronic compression and rebound adjustment, and adjustable linkage, Ohlins fully adjustable steering damper, Brembo Monobloc M50 radial calipers, 330mm dia. floating discs and radial master cylinder, Marchesini forged light alloy wheels, DDA – Ducati Data Analyser, ABS – Bosch 3-level Electronic Antilock Braking System, DTC – Ducati Traction Control, EBC – Engine Braking Control, DQS – Ducati Quickshifter, RbW – Ride by Wire throttle control, Switchable engine maps – Rain, Sport, Wet, Taller screen, MOTO GP derived LCD instruments and Ducati engine immobiliser. Also has a Bike-Trac Tracker fitted from new.

This particular bike has key options fitted including Brembo RCS brake and clutch master cylinders with Brembo folding levers,  a CNC clutch slave cylinder, an AFAM ‘Red’ chain, and a Carbon Fibre exhaust shield in addition to all the other Carbon Fibre parts fitted. 

Wonderful bike, in excellent, original condition. Sounds and looks awesome, with monstrous, mindblowing performance from its 202 bhp / 98 lb ft L-Twin ‘R’ spec. Superquadro motor. With it’s low mileage, and comprehensive history, it must surely become ever more desirable as time goes on.
