MODEL SUMMARY.

Beautiful Ducati 888 Strada Ducati Rosso Corsa (Racing Red) with Brembo 3 spoke light alloy rims in Silver.

Originally registered 28th April 1994 in the Netherlands, it’s long term Dutch owner also had a property in the UK, and so the bike was registered in the UK in 2015 when he eventually sold the bike. The original clocks are present and show 29000 km (18100 miles) with the bike now having MPH clocks fitted and all paperwork to support the overall mileage of 19000 miles. All original certificates of UK registration are also present.

It’s a highly original, essentially standard bike, in genuinely lovely condition. Very bright, and very pretty, and owned by us personally for the last five, or so, years. We love it, and it will always turn heads at a bike meet as you just don’t see 888s, be it a Strada or an SP5. Becoming very rare, but remaining a very useable classic.

The 888 Strada specification included it’s 100bhp 888cc DOHC 4v per cylinder Desmodromic motor, Weber Marelli IAW Injection and Ignition, Fully adjustable 41mm dia. Showa forks, Fully adjustable Showa rear shock, Brembo 3 spoke light alloy rims, Brembo Gold calipers with fully floating 320mm dia. front discs, 245mm dia. fixed rear disc, Double sided swingarm finished in natural aluminium and Adjustable levers with Brembo master cylinders and remote reservoirs. In Japanese specification terms of the day, it was a very high specification machine, eclipsed only by it’s own more exotic brethren, the SPS, SP4 and SP5.

This particular bike whilst remaining essentially standard does have some nice upgrades fitted including Sil Moto high level performance exhausts with Race Chip (original low level exhausts and chip supplied) Air box mod with K&N filter, Lucas adjustable rearsets, Carbon fibre front hugger, Carbon fibre rear hugger, Carbon fibre heel plates and a Smoked screen

Minimal miles covered since having Ducati o.e Red Kevlar timing belts, valve clearances, spark plugs, fuel filter and air filter cleaned/oiled (K&N) Recent Shell Ultra Advance 10w/40 fully synthetic oil. New battery. As new Michelin Pilot Powers fitted

All 851/888 variants are becoming an ever more rare sight on our roads, and all have great desirability. This bike is quite lovely and fast becoming a collector’s piece, if indeed it has not already attained that status. A bike to nurture and cherish, but not so precious as to not still ride and enjoy it. Truly lovely bike

MODEL SUMMARY.

Highly original Honda CB900 F2-B in Red/White with Gold wheels.

A 1981 model but quite possibly the last Honda UK example ever to be registered. The bike was issued to the Honda dealer in June 1981, immediately before the dealer went bust ! The business failure and it’s assets, or lack of them, was complex and resultantly the existing stock sat in storage for many years. Consequently, this bike was registered brand new in June 1987, on a ‘D’ prefix, and sold through the Honda dealer network, complete with it’s Honda warranty. There are notes to this effect in the history file, and so you have it, a ‘D’ plate CB900 F2-B.

We have owned the bike personally for a couple of years now, having taken it in part exchange. We exchanged bikes with our customer in Orpington, and to cut a long story short, we enjoyed riding the bike the 50 miles back so much we decided to keep it for sunny Sunday morning ride outs with some of our friend’s similar vintage machines.

The bike is totally fit and healthy, and just rides beautifully. Decently quick, good brakes, easy, surprisingly agile handling, and supremely comfortable, we always feel we are cheating a little when we are in a group of 10 year older Norton Commandos, Honda CB750s, or Suzuki T500Rs, for example, as this bike is so modern by comparison. Just a very nice machine for pleasure riding.

We have lots of sevice bills and invoices, previous bills of sale, old V5s, old MOTs and a period sales brochure. Recently had Shell Advance Ultra AX7 Semi-Synthetic oil and filter change, clutch, rear caliper overhaul and replacement battery and it will have a new MOT provided at point of sale.

So there it is, a very useable classic in highly original condition and specification, but with none of the usual classic bike issues that can reduce pleasure of ownership. This bike will start on the button, each and every time, and can be relied upon implicitly. A lovely old girl !

MODEL SUMMARY.

Very little to say about this one, other than it is an exceptional, original, unmodified, untouched example of an early Honda VTR1000 SP-1 in Winning Red.

UK supplied by franchised Honda dealers Carnell Motorcycles of Stockport, Cheshire, registered August 2000, originally on a ‘W’ plate but now on an appropriate ‘HRC’ number which will remain with the bike. Just 3 owners (including ourselves) and 2100 miles from new ensure that this bike presents a rare opportunity for any buyer that values mileage and provenance highly.

Everything is present, including the original service book + all original manuals, original bill of sale, service bills/invoices, old V5s, old MOTs, original owner’s warranty card, original sales brochures, original datatag documents, and all keys (including number tag) The original owner was an avid motorcycle collector whom had purchased many Hondas previously. As such he was invited along to the UK VIP press launch for the bike in February 2000, and we have all the literature associated with that also.

In the interests of good mechanical practise, the bike has recently had Motul 5100 10w/40 oil, battery, injectors untrasonically cleaned and spark plugs.

Totally standard, unmodified bike down to every last detail, hand built by Honda, and with peerless build quality and engineering. Just fabulous

The SP-1 is a significant model in Honda’s motorsport history, being developed solely to take on the might of the big Ducati twins in the late ’90s, early 2000s which totally dominated World Superbike racing. With the rules favouring twins over the (V) 4-cylinder bikes with regard to capacity allowance, Honda felt that they had no choice but to design and build the SP-1 V-Twin HRC race bike. It proved to be the right decision, and with Colin Edwards aboard, the HRC built SP-1 took the World Superbike Championship title in it’s first competitive year, that being 2000.

This particular bike is an absolute joy to ride, just perfect in every way, and far too good to be bought for general use, but would of course suit a collector, and would serve wonderfully for high days and holidays. Whilst there may be plenty of SP-1s to choose from, very few will match this one in terms of mileage, provenance, originality and condition. We have owned the bike personally for a number of years. New MOT provided at point of sale

MODEL SUMMARY.

Exceptional, original, unmodified example of an Aprilia RS250 Mk2 in Diablo Black/Red/Silver (colour scheme d.bl)

UK supplied new by Bonanza Motorcycles Ltd of London, registered May 2003 on an ’03’ plate, this is one of the last RS250s in later colours. Just 2 owners, and 3400 miles from new ensure that this bike presents a rare opportunity for any buyer that values mileage and provenance highly.

Everything is present, including the original stamped service book and owner’s manual, service bills/invoices, original bill of sale, old V5s, old MOTs and all keys (with number tag)

Recent service included new spark plugs, and power valve caps drained/cleaned and operation tested/adjusted.

Totally standard, unmodified bike (other than easily removed red rim tape) the rarity of this bike will be very clear to anyone with an interest in these machines.

The Aprilia RS250 was genuinely the last of a breed, the last of the ‘ring-a-ding’ screaming 2 strokes, or smokers as they are affectionately referred to. A different riding experience with no low down power, torque or engine braking. The little motor needs to be between 8000-11000rpm, but when it is, with the power valves fully open, it will sing in a way no 4 stroke ever will. Just fabulous, and 55bhp from 249cc will never feel so quick, willing and able.

This particular bike is an absolute joy to ride, just perfect in every way, and far too good to be bought for general use, but would of course suit a collector, and would serve wonderfully for high days and holidays. Very rare to find a late RS250 with such mileage and ownership provenance. We have owned the bike personally for a number of years. New MOT provided at point of sale

MODEL SUMMARY.

Well, what to say ? Utterly magnificent MV Agusta F4 1000R 312, a very special and beautiful motorcycle, but with a very distinct difference to most, if not all on the market worldwide. That being, the bike has covered just 9 miles, has had 1 owner, and is in perfect, pristine, effectively new condition. Untouched, and unmodified in any way shape or form.

This bike was UK supplied by Red Dog Motorcycles of Edenbridge in Kent, well known at the time for providing 2 wheeled Italian exotica, and registered in November 2007 on a ’57’ plate. It’s buyer was a young Yorkshire based entrepreneur whom had just ordered the then new  Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 in Pearlescent White. He wanted an exotic Italian motorcycle in matching Pearlescent White to go with his Lamborghini, and so this bike was bought,  simple as that.

The bike was properly stored, and never ridden. We bought it directly from the original owner with 3 miles recorded, it’s test mileage. It’s effectively brand new. Upon it’s return to East Sussex, we drained the original crankcase oil, filled with fresh Motul 7100 10w/60 fully synthetic, flushed/added fresh fuel, and fitted a new battery. On turning the key, the fuel pump primed instantly, and upon pressing the starter button, the bike fired up and burbled away as if it had been used every single day of it’s life. We wanted to ride it, and so rode a 6 mile round trip to have the bike MOTd. Naturally, it rides as new, quite perfect in every sense. When returned to our workshops, the battery was disconnected, an Optimate charger hooked up, and the bike covered up.

The R 312 was so called because of MV’s claim as to it’s top speed capability, specifically ‘312’ kmh (or 194 mph) That proved a little optimistic with contemporary road tests recording mid 180s. This one is in the bespoke Pearl White and Pastel Black colour scheme with Red and Silver decals. Standard specification included Slipper clutch with EBS (Engine Braking System) Revised close ratio gearbox, Revised suspension calibration, Steel trellis framework with cast aluminium swingarm plates, Single sided swingarm, Lightweight 10 spoke Marchesini rims, Fully adjustable USD 50mm dia. Marzocchi forks, Fully adjustable Sachs rear monoshock, Brembo monobloc silver brake calipers with red lettering, Quick release body panels, seat unit, fuel tank and airbox, Patented 4-2-1-2-4 Arrow quad exhaust system, Removable cassette gearbox, Ferrari influenced motor with radial valves, and LCD/Analogue instruments.

There really is very little else to say. This is a quite possibly unique opportunity to buy a ‘new’ 312 R, one of the world’s most beautiful and exotic motorcycles, this model now many years out of production, and clearly a bike that would sit very nicely in any bike or car collection, at any financial level. A glorious machine, perfect, pristine. Just wonderful.

UK supplied by Ducati franchised agents Italia Moto of Lincoln in July 2002, and registered on an ’02’ plate. 2 owners from new, and 12800 miles. This bike really should appeal to any buyer that places great importance on originality, and known ownership provenance, two of the most important factors, in our view, when purchasing any collectible car or motorcycle. It has extensive documented history including it’s original service book, numerous service bills/invoices and numerous old MOTs.  Everything else is present, including all handbooks/manuals/owner’s wallet, and all keys including the number tag.

Will have new timing belts and fresh Shell Ultra advance fully synthetic oil at point of sale. Recent spark plugs. New Michelin Pilot Powers fitted

The Ducati 998 was the last of the Massimo Tamburini designed 916/996/998 lineage and differed greatly from it’s forebears in utilising the then new ‘Testastretta’ motor, literally translated as ‘Narrow Head’ enabling a reduced included angle between the valves, this allowing bigger valves, and necessitating significant re-engineering and re-location of one half of the desmodromic valve gear.

In higher ‘S’ specification, as with our bike here, the motor produced 136 bhp (140 ps) in line with the previous 996 R, which used essentially the same motor, and was significantly up on the previous range topping 996 SPS’s 123 bhp. and the ‘standard’ 998 Testastretta’s (identical) 123bhp. The motor also utilised higher specification materials for the the con rods, valves and pistons, and had a ‘deep sump’ which naturally made for cooler internal crankcase temperatures.

The rest of the ‘S’ enhancements focused on fully adjustable TiN coated Showa forks with a fully adjustable Ohlins rear shock unit, lighter Marchesini rims, and optional (fitted here) full Termignoni exhaust system with accompanying re-map/ECU chip, alongside Gold Brembo 4 piston calipers, 320mm dia. front brake discs, steering damper, quick release fairings and body panels, and an easily replaceable dry clutch (of course)

Many would say that that these bikes are the most focused, beautifully designed motorcycle there has ever been. Whether or not that is the case, if ever a bike was destined to become a future classic, well, this is it, and 27 years after it’s launch, any 916/996/998 Ducati, from a Biposto, to an S/SPS, to an R, remains a thing of beauty, and hugely desirable. This particular bike is truly lovely, and we have owned it personally for a number of years. New MOT provided at point of sale

MODEL SUMMARY.

Beautiful example of a Triumph Daytona T595 in Phantom Black.

UK supplied by Triumph Franchised dealers Neil Young Motorcycles of Northampton in August 1997 on an ‘R’ prefix. 1 owner from new, and just 7900 miles ensure that this bike presents a rare opportunity for any buyer that values mileage and provenance highly.

Everything is present, including it’s original stamped service book and owner’s manual, the original bill of sale,  service bills/invoices, old MOTs and all keys (with number tag).

Recently serviced by us using Motul 5100 oil and filter.

Standard bike other than for a sweet sounding Blue Flame exhaust, with the original also provided.

These T595s were the reborn (Hinckley) Triumph’s first ‘proper’ sports bike aimed at the likes of Honda’s Fireblade, Yamaha’s R1 and Ducati’s 916, all fantastically accomplished, very quick bikes of their day.

Contrary to the T595 moniker, the motor was a 130bhp triple of 955cc capacity, which provided immense aural delights, suitably enhanced by the ‘pipe on our bike which just sounds fantastic.

This particular bike rides essentially as new, a total joy, and it goes without saying represents a rare opportunity given it’s originality, mileage and ownership provenance.  This bike is far too good, and special, to be bought for general use, but would of course suit a collector, and would serve wonderfully for high days and holidays. We have owned the bike personally for a number of years. New MOT provided at point of sale

MODEL SUMMARY.

Very little to say about this one, other than it is an exceptional example of a Honda CBR900RR-3 Fireblade 954 in Yellow and Black (colour code NH1-Y)

UK supplied by franchised Honda dealers Kent Motorcycles of Canterbury in December 2003, one of the last of this model prior to the introduction of the CBR1000 RR-4.  Just 2 owners, and 2600 miles from new ensure that this bike presents a rare opportunity for any buyer that values mileage and provenance highly.

Everything is present, including the original stamped service book and owner’s manual, service bills/invoices, old MOTs, all keys (with number tag) and original owner’s warranty card.

We have recently serviced it to include Motul 5100 oil and filter.

Standard bike except for sweet sounding Scorpion Red Power exhaust, Powerbronze tinted screen, and tail tidy, with the original exhaust and screen provided. It also has professionally powdercoated wheels in yellow.

The 954 is a significant model in the Fireblade’s history being the last of the Tadao Baba designed bikes, and said by many to be the best Fireblade ever due to it’s light weight and free revving, beautifully smooth engine.

These truly are an incredibly refined super bike with peerless Honda build quality, and remain a magnificently untemperamental superbike more than capable of holding their own against far newer machines.

This particular bike is an absolute joy to ride, just perfect in every way, and far too good to be bought for general use, but would of course suit a collector, and would serve wonderfully for high days and holidays. Very rare to find a 954 of this quality, and with such mileage and ownership provenance. We have owned the bike personally for a number of years. New MOT provided at point of sale

MODEL SUMMARY.

Not too much to say about this one, other than it is a completely standard, and original, virginal bike.

Yamaha YZF-R1 4XV, UK supplied by franchised Yamaha dealers Fraser’s of Gloucester in July 1999, in the year two colour scheme of Yamaha Deep Purplish Blue metallic with White Decals and Silver Wheels.

Just 2 owners, and 2400 miles from new ensure that this bike presents a rare opportunity for any buyer that values mileage and provenance highly. Everything is present, including the original stamped service book and owner’s manual, the original bill of sale, service bills/invoices, old MOTs, all keys (with number tag) and original owner’s warranty card.

We have recently serviced it to include Motul 5100 oil and filter, Iridium spark plugs, fuel filter and carburettors stripped/ultrasonically cleaned/rebuilt with new repair kits, all in the interests of good mechanical practise.

Totally stock, standard and unmodified, it rides as a new machine, and is in original, essentially unmarked condition, proudly displaying all it’s originally fitted parts, from it’s indicators, to it’s levers, to it’s clear screen, to it’s number plate hanger, to it’s exhaust system etc.

These original 4XV R1s were genuinely a game changing motorcycle, taking superbike performance to another level back in the late ‘90s, and paved the way for future superbike development. This bike is far too good, and special, to be bought for general use, but would of course suit a collector, and would serve wonderfully for high days and holidays. We have owned the bike personally for a number of years. New MOT provided at point of sale
