MODEL SUMMARY.

Glorious Ducati 1098S Tricolore in Ducati Corse Red/White/Green Tricolore colour scheme. 1 of 1031 of these were produced in 2007,  all in the unique Tricolore colour scheme with their trellis frame also in Gold and with Gold forged/machined lightweight Marchesini wheels. Very pretty bikes.

UK supplied, 2007 07 registered and 10000 miles with fully documented Riders, Pro Twins and specialist Ducati history. Belt service and new MOT provided at point of sale. Everything is present including it’s fully stamped original service book, service bills/invoices, old MOTs, all owner’s manuals/handbooks and all keys including keycode card and number tag.

Over and above the unique colour scheme, frame and wheels, these Tricolore models also came as standard with a Ducati Corse Race cowl, and Ducati Corse Carbon Fibre front hugger. More important though was the factory fitted 102dB Termignoni exhaust system with Race ECU, which was an option on the usual 1098S at a cost of around £2000. The Termignonis and ECU added to the ‘standard’ 160bhp / 90 lb/ft developed by the ‘Testastretta Evoluzione’ which, as it’s name would suggest, was an evolution of the ‘Narrow Head’ Testastretta motor seen in earlier 998 and 999 variants (and 996R) and of course added greatly to the aural and visual effects of these machines.

The rest of the spec. came from the more usual 1098S model and included fully adjustable 43mm dia. Ohlins forks, fully adjustable Ohlins rear shock, fully adjustable Ohlins steering damper, Brembo Monobloc calipers with 330mm dia. front discs, single sided swingarm finished in natural aluminium, DDA – Ducati Data Analyser, Moto GP derived LCD instruments incorporating stopwatch and lap timer, and adjustable levers with Brembo radial master cylinders and remote reservoirs

This particular bike also has key desirable options fitted including Ducati Corse carbon fibre rear hugger, Ducati Corse carbon effect tank pad, Ducati Performance anodised clutch pressure plate, Carbon fibre open clutch cover, carbon fibre side infill panels, carbon fibre exhaust heat shield, carbon fibre front sprocket cover, carbon fibre heel plates and a smoked screen. Many of the original parts are also provided.

All in all, a truly beautiful, and wondrous machine, and one of our own personal bikes

MODEL SUMMARY.

Gorgeous MV Agusta F4 750S, these small early 750 models are acknowledged as being one of the most beautiful motorcycles of all time. Designed by Massimo Tamburini, famed for his earlier Ducati 916 design, these bikes were built to celebrate Cagiva’s purchase of the MV Agusta brand under the helm of Claudio Castiglioni, head of the family that retains ownership today. Ferrari had an influential input in to the design of the motor, which utilises radial valves and a quick to remove cassette gearbox, and indeed the ‘F‘ in ‘F4‘ signifies Ferrari‘s technical input. Key specification included a Steel trellis framework with cast aluminium swingarm plates, Lightweight 5 spoke ‘Star’ wheels, Single sided swingarm, Fully adjustable USD Gold 49mm dia. Showa forks, Fully adjustable Sachs rear shock including ride height, 6 pot Nissin brake calipers with bespoke Nissin master cylinder, Quick release body panels, seat unit, fuel tank and airbox, Patented 4-2-1-2-4 Arrow quad exhaust system, Ohlins adjustable steering damper and LCD/Analogue instruments. This particular bike is in Red and Silver, with Silver frame and wheels. 15000 miles with a fair amount of documented history including service bills/invoices and old MOTs. Recent servicing work includes a Motul 7100 10w/60 fully synthetic oil service, cooling system drain/flush/refill with Engine Ice High Performance Coolant, fuel pump replacement and fuelling checked and mapped accordingly. Recent Metzeler M5 Sportec rear tyre with matching Metzeler front. Fitted with some nice expensive options, this bike has the original patented 4-2-1-2-4 Arrow quad exhaust system with debaffled 1078RR slash cut pipes, Power Commander PClll USB, CNC milled billet alloy adjustable levers, Melotti Parts tail tidy with re-located rear indicators, Suede ‘Alcantara’ comfort seat pad, MRA smoked screen and Optimate flylead. Original screen and number plate hanger will also be supplied. A small but interesting part of the bike’s ownership history is that it was once owned by Dave Myers, one half of the ‘The Hairy Bikers’ and his details can be clearly seen in some of the bike’s history file. Dave references this very bike in more than one interview, and discusses how in some ways he regrets selling it. although he was too big and heavy for it when he had it (his own words !)

The links below may be of some interest where Dave discusses the bike, amongst others:-

Mark Higgins flying lap at IOM TT 2016

Mark Higgins in his Subaru WRC rally car doing a flying lap at an average speed of 128mph at the 2016 TT. Just incredible. Subaru had returned to the island with a full on assault of the overall lap record following their 2014 effort which resulted in a 116mph average speed. However, the superbikes cover the same lap quite a bit quicker, with Peter Hickman achieving an average speed of 135mph during TT fortnight 2018, and are in a different league to this. Believe it or not, this 600bhp £500000 + supercar laps in a similar time to the 130bhp Supersport bikes, and slower than the 1000 Superstock machines available ‘off the shelf’ for around £20000. With those comments bourne in mind, and with due respect to Mark’s heroic, and supremely skilful efforts, this video, above all others, gives a very clear indication of  the speed of the TT bikes and the superhuman abilities of their riders. That is why the IOM TT is the greatest motorsport spectacle of it’s kind, and every year, people flock from each corner of the world to be a part of this astonishing, and unique event.
