MODEL SUMMARY.

Excellent example of a 2014 14 Reg. Honda CBR1000RR-E ABS Fireblade in Pearl Glare White. The 2014 model year bikes were quite heavily revised in terms of cylinder head design, mapping and fuelling, and riding position. Quoted power output rose to 181bhp (133kW)

This particular bike has covered 21000 miles with service history including it’s original service book and a previous bill of sale. Recent lube service, air filter, plugs and wheel bearings, and has excellent matching Michelin Pilot Road 4s fitted. The previous owner used it for his daily motorway commute hence it’s higher than average mileage, but the flipside is it’s spent most of it’s life in the upper gears at motorway speeds, and hence is quite superb mechanically, and very clean.

These later Fireblades had an impressive technical spec. which included Electronic Combined Antilock Braking System (C-ABS) Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD) Multifunction LCD instruments with lap timer and fuel computer, Lightweight multispoke wheels, Adjustable BPF Showa suspension front with Showa adjustable rear, Slipper clutch and a Factory fitted HISS immobiliser.

In the ‘real world’ these remain one of the fastest, lithe and agile superbikes that can be bought, with a midrange, flexibility and lack of temperament pretty much unmatched anywhere else, at any price.

These are an utterly glorious machine, a modern generation Ducati using their recent approach to aluminium monococque chassis design where the engine itself acts as a stressed member. Bristling with high technological electronic and mechanical componentry the specification includes ABS – Bosch 3-level Electronic Antilock Braking System, DTC – Ducati Traction Control, EBC – Engine Braking Control, DQS – Ducati Quickshifter, RbW – Ride by Wire throttle control, Switchable engine maps – Rain, Sport, Wet, Full adjustable Marzocchi 50mm dia. This bike also has the utterly fabulous 70mm 102dB Termignoni exhaust system with Race ECU which add to the ‘standard’ 160bhp / 90 lb/ft developed by the ‘Testastretta Evoluzione’ which, as it’s name would suggest, was an evolution of the ‘Narrow Head’ Testastretta motor seen in earlier 998 and 999 variants (and 996R) and of course added greatly to the aural and visual effects of these machines.

MODEL SUMMARY.

Brilliant little Suzuki TS 250 Trails/Scrambler. Green. This is an ‘N’ version of 1978/1979 vintage, recently registered on an ‘S’ suffix, and declared manufactured by DVLA as 1978 so Tax and MOT exempt.

Recent works and fettling include + 1.0mm rebore, new piston and rings, new small end, new top end gaskets and full bottom end checkover. Carburettor removed, stripped and ultrasonically cleaned, a new NGK spark plug (of course) and fresh 2T oil. New fork seals and fluid, new front brake shoes and brake cable, and new headstock bearings. The chain and sprockets are good, as are the matching tyres, and it has had new Hagon rear shocks fitted. It starts and runs beautifully, without hesitation.

The frame is particularly clean, and removing the fuel tank, side panels and seat, reveals all to be similarly clean in the hidden areas. The original CDI system creates a healthy spark and the CCI oil injection system is as originally fitted, and functions perfectly.

The bike retains it’s original clocks, with the rev counter and speedometer performing faultlessly, switchgear, lights, handlebars, spoked rims etc, and remains standard in it’s specification.

It is a smart bike in all areas. The tank, mudguards and side panels have been painted to a less than professional standard, no doubt by a keen owner, but by the same token are entirely presentable, and proudly display nice period style decals and badges. It all looks good, but there is room for improvement here, and it would prove simple and inexpensive.

Recorded Category N due to non availablity of new original parts. Total repair cost was just £230 ! We have a full breakdown of used parts that were required and all purchase bills/invoices for them.

Great fun to ride, it is very light, and the 250cc 2 -stroke motor extremely willing, and seemingly giving more than it’s 23bhp. Totally usable, this is a fabulous little bike for spurting around the lanes on a Sunday morning, with the odd bit of ‘green laning’ and trail riding thrown in. As with many other classics, a bike such as this can offer so much fun, a real sense of nostalgia, and enjoyment of use and ownership. Just fantastic.

Whilst the bike is now Tax and MOT exempt, we will MOT it in the interests of good practise prior to sale

This one has a Powerbronze tinted double bubble screen, Bar risers, Oxford heated grips, GI Pro gear indicator, Tank grips, Blue anodised bar ends, Paddock stand bobbins and a META CAT 1 alarm/immobiliser.

MODEL SUMMARY.

Highly original Yamaha XS750-E Triple in Carmine Red with Gold pin-striping and Black/Silver alloy/mag wheels.

Imported from the warmer climes of the US during 2018, this is a 1978 ‘E’ model with matching frame and engine numbers 1J7-229xxx now UK registered on an ‘S’ suffix. Sold by us to the previous owner, we are pleased to be able to offer it to market once again.

It remains true to it’s original specification, actually quite remarkably so. A period correct, and most desirable 3 into 1 exhaust system is fitted, and serves only to enhance the crisp note of the charismatic triple cylinder motor.

Close inspection of the bike reveals very clearly that it has had recent sympathetic fettling, and re-commissioning. As such it is totally fit and healthy, and runs and rides beautifully. Decently quick, good brakes, easy, surprisingly agile handling, and supremely comfortable, this is a fantastically useable classic motorcycle, with a wonderful sound track.

The ‘E’ variant was the best developed of the XS750 line, and significantly re-engineered over the previous C, D and D2 models, with revised camshafts, higher 9.5:1 compression (vs 8.5:1) more efficient airbox, jetting and breathing, electronic ignition, constant velocity (CV) triple carbs, and an increased rev limit ceiling of 9000 rpm (up from 7500) The net result was a further 10bhp, with the sweet sounding and musical motor developing a healthy 74bhp. Adjustable forks were also introduced, complimenting the increase in power.

With revised gearing, and more power across the entire rev range, the E was a great deal quicker and as a consequence was referred to by the contemporary press reports as ‘the fast one’.

It’s worth mentioning that the 2nd gear problem (going into neutral under load) which is often discussed with the earlier models did not apply to this version.

It was also the first of the breed to offer an oil level inspection window, as opposed to a dipstick, and so an E is very easily identifiable, over and above the frame number prefix of 1J7-2xxxxx.

Has recently had an oil and filter change utilising Silkolene oil and HiFlo filter, final drive and ‘middle’ gear oil replacement utilising Comma 80w/90 GL5 mineral oil, new spark plugs, and new Bridgestone Spitfire tyres. New MOT provided at point of sale.

So there it is, a very useable classic in highly original condition and specification, but with none of the usual classic bike issues that can reduce pleasure of ownership. This bike will start on the button, each and every time, and can be relied upon implicitly. A lovely old girl !
